'Unicode Finder' is an intelligent handwriting recognition tool that allows you to easily discover special characters, symbols, emojis, and rare Unicode glyphs by sketching them on an interactive canvas. Have you ever seen an aesthetic heart, star, arrow, or math notation on social media or in a document and wondered how to type or find it without knowing its name? Instead of endlessly digging through gigantic character maps, simply sketch what you remember, and our computer vision matching algorithm will instantly find the closest matching Unicode characters in real time.
Covering basic punctuation and aesthetic symbols, mathematical/scientific operators, fancy script & fraktur letters, ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, CJK unified ideographs, Hangul syllables, and rare historical scripts, our database spans tens of thousands of characters. Once you spot the symbol you need, copy it with a single click and seamlessly paste it into your Instagram bio, X (Twitter) posts, Discord tags, creative designs, and text documents!

Detailed Usage
1. Sketch on the Canvas: Click and drag your mouse, or touch and draw with a stylus or finger on mobile screens. The crosshair grid guidelines help you balance the scale and center of your stroke for optimal recognition accuracy.
2. Choose Search Scope: Core symbols, arrows, and emojis are included by default. If you are looking for stylish calligraphy letters, calculus/algebra symbols, ancient cuneiform, or Chinese/Japanese kanji, click the respective category chip at the top to activate that collection.
3. Search & Review Results: When your sketch is ready, press 'Search Unicode'. Candidates will appear as cards showing the match percentage (%) and the Unicode hex code (U+XXXX). If there are many matches, press 'Load More (+50)' at the bottom to explore further results.
4. One-Click Copy: Simply click on the character inside any result card, and it will be immediately copied to your clipboard with a confirmation popup, ready to paste (Ctrl+V) anywhere.

Troubleshooting
add The character I am looking for does not appear near the top of the search results.
Try redrawing the symbol with clearer, more distinct strokes and prominent angles or curves. Also, ensure that the appropriate category chip (such as Math/Science, Fancy Letters, or CJK Ideographs) is turned on if your desired symbol belongs to a specialized script.
add The canvas does not draw or touch events do not respond.
This may occur if the browser zoom is abnormally enlarged or due to a temporary script lag. Please refresh the page (F5) or reset your browser zoom level to 100% and try again.
add When I click search, it displays 'Indexing...' and pauses for a moment.
When large categories such as CJK Ideographs (~20,000 characters) are first activated, the browser performs a high-speed one-time indexing of glyph visual shapes. This typically completes within 1-2 seconds depending on your device performance.
add Are my drawings or search data stored or transmitted to external servers?
Rest assured, nothing is ever uploaded! The visual feature extraction and similarity ranking of Unicode Finder run 100% on client-side JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas inside your web browser. No stroke data or images are ever sent to our servers, guaranteeing complete privacy and security.
add When I paste the copied symbol into another app, it shows as a blank rectangle (□) or question mark (?).
This is known as the "tofu" effect. It happens when the target app or device lacks font support for newly standardized or rare Unicode characters. Updating your operating system or using rich font environments will display the glyph correctly.
