ASCII Text
'ASCII' in 'ASCII text' stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange, which is a 7-bit character encoding system standardized by ANSI in the US in 1963. The ASCII code, which began to be used in teleprinters, has become the foundation of character encoding today.
